Honestly, I don’t have any of those issues you describe/experienced. The recent Linux distro of Ubuntu and Fedora come with a lot of those hardware issues fixed.

Waking from sleep, takes literally 1 second, i.e when I open the laptop screen the login screen of Ubuntu already shows up.

Battery runs for 6h–8h without any issues.

WiFi an issue? Yeah, maybe 2 years ago, but since then, everything just runs.

The Xps13 has a beautiful screen (very close to a Retina). Also the T460s screen is quite good. Depending on the distribution your text will already look good (Ubuntu does it out of the box).

Never had an issue with the trackpad either. This might very well come down to the Linux distro you were using. Even my dev who runs Arch Linux on the Xps13 has no problem with the screen and trackpad.
